I tilted my head as I looked at him. I burst out laughing at
his foolish expression, eyes half-closed, head rotated at an odd angle,
combined with my tilted head and his raised eyebrow that looked like another
mouth. “Yea..? ...Hahahahaha.” I tried to regain my composure but his expression
was just too great.
“Really?” was all he said. He was clearly slightly upset.
Though he knew me well enough to just wait for me to calm down. Which I
did… after a few more minutes of
laughter.
“Alright, alright” I said, catching my breath. “You should
have seen a mirror though, your face was more hilarious than usual!”
He closed his eyes and faced me; his way of saying he was
unimpressed.
“You know you’re secretly happy that I keep things
interesting. That being said, no there wasn’t, but a new breeze is always the
start of a new beginning.” I was being smart, after all, I was the less serious
of the two of us; mostly cause he was too serious for his own good.
“Please, of course a new breeze marks a new beginning. It’s
NEW.” His words were clear, and to the point. Though his emphasis on new made
it seem like it was sparkling.
I grabbed his hand. “It doesn’t matter, this is our new
beginning. Not because of the wind, not because of our friends and not because
of school. It’s our beginning because I say so.”
“No, because we say so.” He also squeezed my hand as we
leaned toward each other, under the shade of a familiar tree under the same
sun. We both had had our fair share of hardship and for the first time after
our plan, we could finally enjoy each other’s company while relaxing.
He would always be my savior, and he would always be there
to keep me straight. I would always be his ally and I will always keep him in
one piece. Though, I am his mini-version, or so they tell me. It doesn’t matter
though, as I felt his hand warm in mine, because I like being similar to him.
