Step, step, step... The rhythm of the footsteps outside slowly crescendoed as they came closer. Taking note of the window opposite the door, Kie Ru examined the light under the door. Two black shadows split the light into three, with one moving up and down to the sound of tapping. The tempo accelerated, raising the heartbeat of Kie. Taking a burst toward the door, he leapt into the light only to find steel confines surrounding him. Crying out in despair his desperate meows reached deaf ears. The cage closed behind him as a person appeared. "Well let's get this guy to get his shots."
