Everyone has a bad day, and I too have days where nothing
seems to go right. Frustration, anger and sadness are usually the emotions we
feel during bad days and we forget the little things that are truly beautiful.
We forget the things that can bring always bring happiness.
A good example of this is snow. We see snow and we think
about how depressing it is, how we have to clean it and how it hinders us from
our daily activities. However, in this season, most people feel the pain of an
empty hole in their aching heart. The February blues are a common lack of
motivation that occurs and I know I get stuck in it every time. I always look
to the small things around me that can cheer me up, and I found that snow
really has much more than we can see. When you look at snow and you notice that
falling snow is especially pretty, and when it piles up with a very thin layer
of ice it sparkles like a diamond. Watching this makes you forget depression
and sadness, and you feel motivated again. It’s these small things that help us
get away from everyday patterns of life that really matter and these are the
things that will always supply you with joy.
People are an emotional race, and sometimes we drown
ourselves in it. We face different unhappy emotions, for a various reasons, and
I know I suffer more from loneliness than anything else. To me, loneliness made
me sad, scared and angry. I couldn’t resist the pain of it for long and I often
thought about ways to get away from it. In reality, there is no way to get over
these unhappy emotions without becoming happy. However, taking these emotions
seriously can actually cause you to spiral more towards depression, because
thinking makes people more emotional. The way to get through this is to take a
carefree approach to life, and to be more relaxed about the way things are.
Taking a nap under the sun on a hill may be carefree, and it may be lazy, but
people don’t understand the perfection of the best spot and of the refreshing
wind. When warm suns warms your body and the cool wind brushes by, the heart of
the world reaches out to you and happiness will overflow from the earth beneath
you. The lack of stress is really what will set someone free. They are so
simple, and so effective. If we took the time to enjoy every day, from cloudy
skies to sunny ones, we could fine many more ways besides these ones. In fact,
watching the clouds and their carefree sky travel also can be very soothing.
All it takes is a little time to calm down and to think about the good things
about life, and life will become much more interesting. We just have to let it
happen.
So next time; when you don’t feel completely content with
life, take the time to breathe in fresh air, stare at the sky or look at the
smaller things in this world. Then you will notice the bountiful happiness that
makes up our world.
