The sound of footsteps echoed into the darkness. The dark alleyway flickered in and out of sight, the single lamppost barely holding onto the little piece of light it had. He appeared out of the shadows, creeping slowly out into the grey light. His dark hood covered his face, black cloak covering his limbs as he stretched out his hand, a single finger visible, pointing at me.
"You." his voice was crispy, and harsh. It had no pressure behind it. Still, cold chills went down my body. My arms shivered and body began quaking under his presence. "You." He repeated it again. This time, I was on my knees. My legs had lost their strength, and I desperately covered my ears with my hands. I cowered under his presence.
"You have committed a sin." His voice lost whatever color it had before. It was breathless, so breathless it felt soulless. It was so grey that grey felt colorful. Fear, shock, regret and sadness filled my heart. My body began shaking uncontrollably and I couldn't think. I couldn't argue, only emotion filled me. "I'm sorry..." were the desperate sobs of words that escaped my mouth.
"You cannot be forgiven." His response came like ice. The words froze me in that time. Mere seconds extended into eternity, shoving me into a suffering that would be my eternity. "You cannot escape, you must repent and you must experience that pain." The sharpness of his words tore into my sanity, ripping apart the remains of my will. "You will remain here forever, in this darkness. In solitude. You shall live here for the rest of existence. May you never rest in peace." His cold words slammed a tomb stone down on the empty shell that would have once been human.
